About the Trip

Plitvice National Park was declared as UNESCO World Heritage in 1979. as one of the first natural attractions due to its breathtaking views, its fauna and the unique turquoise waters.

After three and half hours long drive we arrive to NP Plitvice, the largest and most visited national park in Croatia. It consists of 16 crystal blue lakes, separated into the Upper (12), from which the water pours into the Lower lakes (4) through the sparkling cascades and waterfalls. Travertine barriers were made in the period of ten thousand years and they are soul of Plitvice lakes. Entire process of formation of lakes and dams is alive and very dynamic as water keeps breaking through the travertine barriers at different places.

Large forestry complexes, exceptional natural beauty, lakes and waterfalls, flora and fauna, mountain air, forest trails and wooden bridges makes unforgettable beauty. Enjoy boat ride within the sound of the waterfalls from Upper Lakes to Lower lakes. Walking across the lake on charming wooden paths you’ll be amazed by its emerald-green and sapphire blue waters. One of the main attractions is Grat Falls, the 78 meters high waterfall and the highest waterfall in Croatia.

After panoramic train ride through the forest you will have a plenty of free time to do some more exploring or taste typical local dishes from this area in a local tavern.
NOTE: Guests should have proper clothing; sportswear, closed comfortable shoes. Out of season don’t forget warm sweater, umbrella or raincoat.
